Earl Nightingale on your environment
“We become what we think about. People who think about becoming lawyers, become lawyers. A bad environment makes you think bad thoughts. A beautiful environment makes you think beautiful thoughts.”
-Earl Nightingale
Experience vs Income
The life of a freelancer looks like this. It’s super difficult at first, but then gets wayy easier later. At first you have to hunt for clients, by the end they find you. Good luck on your journey :)
How to self publish a physical book in the next 10 minutes:
1.) Start a Google Doc and write the contents.
2.) Download the book as a PDF from Docs.
3.) Go to http://kdp.amazon.com and upload your book info.
4.) Hit publish.
It might not be the best book but it’s possible :-)
Stay sane with work
1.) Make a to-do list the night before.
2.) Once done with that to-do list, no more work allowed.
3.) Never add stuff for the to-do list the same day. If someone asks you for something, reply with “Ok I’ve got it on my calendar for tomorrow!”
August 2020 Goals
Goals for August 2020:
Malibu House Home Gym
Since gyms aren’t open, I made a home gym at the Malibu place.
It was literally 100% full of crap, which I put all in the back, and then used some random chairs and rugs in the place to make it nice.
Been using it everyday, and you get a free audience of people driving on the PCH looking and honking at you 😂
Hanging out in Malibu
Normally I like to leave Austin for the summers, but with Covid those plans were bit hard to make.
So for a month me and my buddy Noah Kagan rented a house on the beach in Malibu.
With the uncertainty of Covid, I didn’t want to get stranded in California, so I drove my car from Austin to California.
The ride was actually pretty great, very scenic, and surprisingly easy!
I drove for 8 hours from Austin to El Paso and stayed in a hotel for the night.
Next drive was 12 hours from El Paso, TX. to Malibu, CA.
Made it to the famous PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) where the house is in great time.
(Plz don’t tell the cops my vehicle inspection sticker is expired)!
The house is literally ON the PCH….it’s kind of weird to have your car parked two feet away from an active highway.
The house has it’s own private beach area. The tide comes in and out throughout the day, making the beach either big or small depending on the tide.
The roommates!

The main reason I leave for summer is to escape the Austin heat. Already a great decision, the weather is like this every single day here 😁
